Explore the archipelago with Harry
Experience the Lysekil Archipelago on the Historic Tugboat Harry!
We are excited to announce our collaboration with L. Laurin, allowing us to offer boat trips on Harry for larger groups and as a unique experience for conference guests—accommodating up to 40 people.
About Harry
The tugboat Harry was built in 1887 at Brynäs Shipyard in Gävle and has a long and eventful history. Originally named Korsnäs 1, it was used to tow ships, barges, and timber. Over the years, it changed owners and names, finally becoming Harry in 1974.
In 1993, Harry was purchased by the L. Laurin Association, which works to preserve and operate the vessel as part of Lysekil’s maritime heritage. On October 23 of the same year, the tugboat arrived in Lysekil, where it has been carefully maintained and showcased as a living museum ship ever since.
Today, Harry is officially K-marked by the Ship Council of the Swedish Maritime Museums, recognizing its significant cultural and historical value. This designation serves as a mark of quality and highlights the tugboat’s important role in Swedish maritime history.
With its classic design and Skandia engine, Harry remains a unique and vital part of Lysekil’s harbor. Thanks to the L. Laurin Association, the tugboat continues to stand as a symbol of the city’s rich maritime heritage and a reminder of the crucial role tugboats played in the past.
